Make history with us.The LPN/RN will provide comprehensive health, wellness and safety services to the employee population in accordance with all applicable company policies, government regulations, nurse practice standards and best practice guidelines. In all areas of practice, the occupational health nurse will act as a resource and an advocate for both employee and company to encourage the attainment of optimal health and well-being within the corporation. Principal Accountabilities1.    Implements Medical Department operations - including but not limited to the following:a.    Conducting assessment, treatment, referral and recording of occupational and emergent non-occupational injuries/illnessesb.    Perform medical surveillance and licensing exams, such as pre-employment, fitness for duty, powered industrial equipment, DOT physicals and OSHA required exams.c.    Administering the policies of the occupational medical program consistent with the company's general policies concerning health servicesd.    Utilizing the necessary equipment and supplies necessary to achieve the objectives of the Medical Department and operate within budget guidelinese.    Administering the plant's Drug and Alcohol Testing Programf.    Partnering with professional health resources and department supervision to place injured workers into modified/light duty assignments which meet their physical capabilities and promote rehabilitationg.    Interacting with on-site and community physicians, nurses and physical therapists to promote employee health and wellness2.    Stay updated on knowledge of federal, state and local laws/regulations and other best practices applicable to occupational health. Maintains all required professional licensure and certifications.3.    Collaborates with Safety Team and Risk Management by participating in Global Safety & Health Audit process, and instructing employees in ergonomic and safety education.4.    Implements company provided wellness programs and, additionally, employee health and wellness programs addressing the unique health risks and demographics of the sitea.    Engages and directs users to appropriate CSC resources, such as the Employee Assistance Program, Medical Decision Support and Healthworks Program through company promotions, group education, individual consultations and/or referrals5.    Demonstrates high ethical standards and sustains positive employee relations by inspiring trust, providing high caliber medical treatment and counsel, and maintaining strict confidentiality6.    Demonstrates the ability to set priorities and multitask while performing the duties of the Medical Department7.    Uses knowledge of Workers' Compensation regulations, case management skills and the PIM process to ensure patient understanding and compliance, reduce recovery time, and improve the employee's recovery and return to work outcome8.    Shows the ability to successfully build and maintain productive relationships with Third Party providers through open communication and professional discourse9.    Draws upon regulatory knowledge to ensure program compliance with all OSHA and safety standards through effective training, recordkeeping, and utilization of resources10.    Utilizes medical skills to manage stressful situations through effective communication, accurate assessment, and the provision/recommendation of appropriate careRequirements1.    LPN or Registered Nurse; PN or AS degree in nursing required.2.    AHA or Red Cross CPR/AED certification3.    Experience practicing nursing within an occupational health or emergency room setting4.    Strong written and oral communication skills5.    Sound judgment and ability to manage crisis situations6.    Knowledge of state Worker's Compensation law, OSHA requirements and other occupational health regulations7.    American Board of Occupational Health Nurses certification (COHN or COHN-S) preferred8.    Additional certification in areas such as spirometry, audiometry and/or drug test collection may be required9.    Computer proficiency in word and excelPay: $40 - $45/HRSchedule: 3 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 3 days off. 12hr shift 6am - 6pm Availability to be on call for any absenteeismSeasonal - June - October ( Will receive a call back each year)Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training.
