Here, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter.Job Description:Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Supplier Performance & Strategic Sourcing Specialist to drive supplier excellence, support New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives, and enable cost-effective, resilient supply chains. This role will play a critical part in strengthening supplier performance, optimizing sourcing strategies, and supporting business growth across manufacturing and distribution networks.Key ResponsibilitiesSupplier Performance ManagementLead supplier performance management for assigned categories and manufacturing/distribution sites.Establish and monitor supplier KPIs, conduct performance reviews, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.Engage directly with suppliers to resolve performance issues and strengthen long-term partnerships.Ensure alignment of supplier performance goals with overall enterprise supply chain strategies.Strategic Sourcing & Supplier DevelopmentIdentify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers across raw materials, third-party manufacturing, and indirect goods & services.Develop and execute sourcing strategies to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and supply continuity.Conduct on-site supplier assessments, ensuring compliance with quality standards (e.g., ISO9001) and company policies.Recommend suppliers for approval through sourcing governance forums/boards.NPI (New Product Introduction) SupportProvide end-to-end sourcing support for local and regional NPI projects.Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to align sourcing solutions with technical and operational requirements.Develop scalable sourcing models that can be leveraged across global operations.Cost Optimization & AnalyticsDevelop should-cost models and utilize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) methodologies to support sourcing decisions.Analyze purchasing data, inventory, and consumption trends to identify cost-saving and optimization opportunities.Build data-driven business cases to support supplier selection, changes, and negotiations.Supply Risk Management & ContinuityIdentify and mitigate supplier risks to ensure supply continuity.Support the implementation of standardized supplier risk management frameworks.Drive proactive risk assessments and contingency planning.Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with internal stakeholders including Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, and R&D teams.Collaborate with Global Category Management to align regional sourcing strategies with global objectives.Translate complex technical requirements into clear supplier specifications and expectations.Project & Change ManagementLead sourcing and supplier-related projects, including supplier transitions and improvement initiatives.Utilize strong project and change management skills to ensure timely and effective execution.Drive adoption of strategic sourcing initiatives across internal stakeholders.Qualifications & ExperienceRequiredBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related fieldSignificant experience in Procurement / Supply Chain within a manufacturing environmentProven experience in supplier performance management and sourcingPreferredExperience with raw materials, contract manufacturing, or indirect procurementExposure to manufacturing processes (e.g., coating, molding, assembly, mixing, filling)Strong analytical skills including TCO and should-cost modelingExperience supporting NPI projectsKnowledge of supplier quality standards (e.g., ISO9001)Demonstrated project management and stakeholder management capabilitiesKey Skills & CompetenciesStrong negotiation and influencing skillsData-driven decision making and problem-solving abilityEffective communication and stakeholder engagementProactive, self-driven, and results-oriented mindsetAbility to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environmentWhy Join This RoleOpportunity to drive end-to-end supplier strategy and performanceExposure to global sourcing and NPI initiativesCollaborate with cross-functional and international teamsPlay a key role in driving cost optimization and supply chain resilience Learn more about 3M’s creative solutions to the world’s problems at www.3M.com or on Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn @3M.Safety is a core value at 3M.
