POSITION SUMMARYThe Client and Customer Experience (C&CE) team is responsible for the servicing of Cigna customers across multiple lines of business, including US Employer, Pharmacy Benefit Services, Individual and Family Plans, and more. C&CE owns the delivery of exceptional customer and client experiences. Within C&CE, the Workforce Management team supports staffing and scheduling across the enterprise, ensuring our phone calls are answered, authorizations are completed and clients are onboarded in timely and efficient manner. The Business Analyst Advisor works within an analytics team that provides support to Workforce Management by delivering high‑quality analytics, reporting, and insights that enable effective operational decision‑making and performance management across multiple lines of business.In this role, the Business Analyst Advisor partners closely with operations leaders, business analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into trusted datasets, dashboards, and analyses that inform day‑to‑day execution, near‑term improvement efforts, and long-term strategy. The Business Analyst Advisor is a hands‑on analytics expert—deeply focused on data extraction, metric development, reporting, and analytical rigor. Advisors are subject‑matter experts in their data domains and are relied upon as a trusted source of truth for C&CE performance insights.This is a fully remote opportunity for candidates in select geographies. Candidates who reside within 50 miles of the following locations will be required to perform onsite 3 days per week: Bloomfield, CT; Chattanooga, TN; Denver, CO; St Louis, MO; and Scottsdale, AZ. PRIMARY FUNCTIONSAnalytics & Data AnalysisLeverage data to answer business questions by identifying data needs, extracting data from relevant sources, and performing detailed analysisUse technical expertise (e.g., SQL, Python, PySpark) and analytical tools to explore operational data, identify trends, drivers, and outliers, and explain performance outcomesSupport testing and monitoring efforts by defining metrics, tracking performance indicators, and identifying emerging issuesReporting & VisualizationDesign, build, and maintain standardized reports and dashboards that support C&CE operational reviews and decision ‑makingEnable self-service analytics by creating clear, ‑well-structured‑ reporting solutions using business intelligence tools including novel AI technologiesContinuously enhance existing reports to improve clarity, usability, performance, and insight generationData Quality & FoundationsEnsure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability through validation, reconciliation, and quality checksDevelop and maintain documentation for datasets, metrics, and reporting logic to support transparency and reusePartner with data engineering and platform teams to improve data availability, structure, and scalabilityOperational Support & AutomationRespond to ad hoc analytical requests while identifying opportunities to standardize or automate recurring analysesBuild repeatable queries, scripts, and datasets to reduce manual effort and improve turnaround timeSupport ongoing operational performance management through KPI tracking and recurring analytics deliverablesCollaboration & CommunicationPartner closely with cross functional stakeholder groups to align analytics outputs with business needsCommunicate insights clearly through written summaries, visuals, and verbal explanations tailored to operational audiencesProvide guidance and analytical expertise on recurring data questions and reporting challengesBASIC QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in analytics, statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, business, or a related fieldTwo years of relevant experience in data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence rolesAdvanced proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, subqueries, and performance optimizationExperience with business intelligence and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)Strong analytical and problem-solving‑ skills with the ability to explain complex data clearlyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience in workforce management for prior authorization, customer service, or client service analyticsProficiency in scripting or analytical language such as Python, PySparkExperience working with large or enterprise scale‑ data platforms (e.g., Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, Databricks)Familiarity with Agile delivery models and work management tools (e.g., Jira)Healthcare, insurance, or PBM industry experienceIf you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 98,200 - 163,600 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.At The Cigna Group, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive range of benefits, with a focus on supporting your whole health.
