The appointment is for nine months (August through May), with the possibility of a summer appointment.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited nursing program, Ph.D. in Nursing, or doctorate in a related field with a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program. Candidates near completion of the doctoral degree may be considered, contingent upon degree completion by the appointment start date.Unencumbered license as a registered nurse in the United States.Eligibility for immediate licensure as a registered nurse in Wisconsin.Current national certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC or FNP-C).Eligibility to meet all clinical agency requirements, including health care provider CPR certification, required immunizations, and other agency-mandated verifications.Satisfactory background check clearance in accordance with applicable state statutes and clinical agency requirements.Clinical practice experience relevant to assigned teaching responsibilities.Demonstrated potential for teaching, scholarship, and service consistent with expectations for a tenure-track appointment.Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging through teaching, clinical practice, scholarship, service, and/or community engagement.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Teaching experience in undergraduate and/or graduate nursing programs.Professional clinical experience as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN).Experience teaching graduate nursing students in advanced practice nursing programs.Experience with clinical placement, preceptor collaboration, or graduate nursing clinical education.Evidence of scholarly activity, research, and/or professional dissemination.Demonstrated ability to integrate technology to enhance teaching and learning.Experience teaching in online, hybrid, simulation, and/or clinical learning environments.DUTIES: A typical faculty workload may include up to twenty-four (24) credits of undergraduate and graduate instruction per academic year delivered in face-to-face, hybrid, online, clinical, laboratory, and/or simulation settings.The successful candidate will:Teach courses consistent with programmatic and departmental needs;Collaborate with faculty colleagues in curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement within Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE)-accredited programs;Engage in scholarly activity and/or research consistent with expectations for a tenure-track appointment;Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students;Participate in student recruitment, engagement, retention, and success initiatives;Participate in university, college, department, and professional service activities consistent with shared governance expectations;Maintain clinical and professional expertise relevant to assigned teaching responsibilities;Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with clinical and community partners;Pursue interdisciplinary teaching, scholarship, and community engagement opportunities as appropriate;Provide clinical supervision and evaluation of students in healthcare and community-based clinical settings;Teach and support student learning in simulation, laboratory, and clinical learning environments;Mentor and support graduate students in scholarly projects, evidence-based practice initiatives, and/or doctoral-level academic work consistent with program needs;Contribute to innovative academic, clinical, simulation, rural health, global learning, and community partnership initiatives.The University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire supports student-centered learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, leadership development, shared governance, professional growth, and innovative partnerships with community agencies and healthcare organizations.ABOUT US:CollegeThe College of Nursing advances the discipline through excellence in education, research, practice, and service.
