Job DescriptionThe University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Student Worker to serve as a Fitness and Recreational Sports Lifeguard at the Lombardi. This position is responsible for enforcement of all aquatic programs policy and procedures, responding to water and medical emergencies, sets-up and breaks down request for special programs when necessary, and conduct general pool maintenance.The Fitness and Recreational Sports department goal is to ensure a fun and safe environment for patrons and staff at the Lombardi pool.ResponsibilitiesEnforce aquatic program policy and proceduresEffectively communicate with patrons, student staff and professional staffAttend all required trainings and meetingsAssess and ensure safe environment for patrons and staffConduct general pool maintenanceWork special events at the Lombardi poolOn time arrival for all shifts, trainings and eventsRespond to water and medical emergenciesSome evening and weekend work as requiredSupport supervisorsRequired QualificationsCandidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, RenoCandidate must have a minimum 2.0 GPALifeguards must possess a good attitudeStrong communication skillsRequired CertificationsCandidate must have a current Lifeguard Red Cross CertificationCPR (Provided by FRS if needed)Preferred QualificationsStudents with Work Study are encouraged to applyScheduleExpected hours to work per week: 10 - 20Compensation GradeStudent Employee Level 1$14.25/hrExemptNoFull-Time Equivalent25.0%Required Attachment(s)Please note, once you submit your application the only attachment/s viewable to you will be the attachment/s to the resume/CV section of the application.
