Position Summary:Under the general supervision of the Director of Athletics, the Head Golf Coach will serve as a member of the Department of Athletics and be responsible for the administration of all aspects relating to a positive and beneficial intercollegiate athletics experience for student-athletes. Must be available nights and weekend hours.Job Description:Essential Functions and Responsibilities:The head Women’s golf coach at Fort Lewis College, an NCAA Division II institution in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, is responsible for leading all aspects of an athletically competitive golf program, including, but not limited to:Organizing and conducting all skill instruction, practice, and scheduling of tournaments, competitions, and training schedulesEffectively manage relationships with student-athletes, coaches, and the broader campus communityStrategize and supervise all aspects of recruitment and evaluation of prospective student-athletesProvide appropriate leadership in practice and competitive environmentsConduct sound fiscal management of the program, administer athletic scholarships to student-athletes, and participate in fundraising activities supporting the programEnsure a quality student-athlete experience through community engagement, campus involvement, and competitive achievementMonitor academic and disciplinary standing of student-athletes; establish positive relationships with support staffParticipate in designated conference and NCAA meetings, and represent the golf program at specific college, department, alumni, media, and community eventsMaintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility, including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standardsPerform other duties as assignedRequired Education, Specialized Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institutionSuccessful experience in coaching golf at the collegiate levelA thorough knowledge of and commitment to compliance with the rules, regulations, and policies of the NCAA and the Rocky Mountain Athletic ConferenceStrong interpersonal and communication skillsA demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communitiesPreferred Education, Specialized Skills and Experience:Master’s degree from an accredited institutionDemonstrated leadership abilitiesExperience in NCAA Division II               Experience in fundraisingReports To / Supervisory Responsibility:The employee reports to the Director of AthleticsWork Environment:The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that an employee can expect while performing the essential functions of this job.
