It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community. Other divisions include Administration, Health Services, Rehabilitation & Reentry, Special Operations and the Post-Release Supervision & Parole Commission. We have a mission that matters!Description of WorkThis position is located at Alexander Correctional Institution in Taylorsville, North Carolina. Alexander Correctional is a closed custody male facility that has approximately 1,000 bed capacity.This Position is responsible for accurately performing accounting work involving the maintenance and reporting of financial accounting data. Duties for this position include but are not limited to:- Analyzing data for accuracy, to problem solve, and to interpret regulations.- Performing various accounting functions through NCAS/NCFS and E-Procurement such as, accounts receivables and payables, purchasing, and etc. - Ensuring all uniform accounting procedures are followed in processing requisitions, P-Card purchases/reconciliation, direct payment forms, expense vouchers, and vendor contracts.- Maintaining all logs, files and reports associated with procurement and payable files.- Reviewing all appliable NCAS reports on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basics.Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management PreferencesSalary Grade Range: $35,596.00 - $62,294.00Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Facilities are categorized by custody levels (minimum, medium, close) and house individuals serving sentences for felony convictions.
