Their work should set students up for current and future successes and positively impact student enrollment, engagement, retention, and completion at Northland. Working in tandem with assigned program/division faculty, fellow advisors, and Academic & Student Affairs personnel, Student Success Advisors intentionally build active relationships with students offering comprehensive support through all aspects of their higher education experience.This position acts as the primary liaison to prospective, new, and currently enrolled students in assigned programs on the Aerospace campus and Warroad site and serve as a back-up for Thief River Falls Career and Technical Education programs. The incumbent serves as the primary advisor on individual advising, group advising, and teaching others how to advise. This position provides recruiting services, serves as the authorized school official for FAA compliance, leads and coordinates placement duties for Aerospace students, and manages the Aerospace testing center. The position supports the Dean and is the primary point of contact for tours, Expos, and liaison for Facilities needs at Aerospace campus.Act as a comprehensive advocate and advisor for students to ensure their success. Serve as a school official to oversee the compliance of Federal Aviation Administration duties for the Aerospace program.Coordinate daily operations.Manage the Aerospace Testing Center-Talogy/ True talent.Other duties as assigned.Salary Range:Minimum QualificationsThree years of related professional work experience; a master’s degree may substitute for 18 months professional work experience; a bachelor’s degree may substitute for 12 months professional work experience; an associate degree may substitute for 6 months professional work experience.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of student development.Experience with computer software applications and systems with the ability to create business correspondence, reports, and presentations.Ability to work with minimal supervision and independently make decisions regarding workload and routine problems and/or situations.Problem solving skills with the ability to set priorities, reason analytically, determine alternative solutions, and analyze and interpret information with a high degree of accountability and accuracy.Excellent organizational, planning, and management skills.Strong interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) in order to communicate effectively without supervision or review, includes public speaking skills to present information in a clear and actionable way to small and large groups.Ability to work as part of a team.Ability to explain and help interpret complex policies involving multiple departments, systems, and levels, such as records and registration, financial aid, business services, bookstore, and admissions.Preferred Qualification Baccalaureate Degree in a related field, e.g. Human Resources, Public Administration, Social WorkExperience in higher educationExperience in developing academic plansKnowledge of data privacy practices and FERPAExperience providing academic and/or employment case managementOther Requirements** Application ProcessTo apply, please submit by: July 6, 2026A cover letter addressing your qualificationsResumeIn accordance with the Minnesota State’s Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to MinnState’s vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.NOTICE: The college regrets that it is unable to offer H-1B sponsorship.
