Join us and transform the lives of patients while transforming your career.Senior Corporate Affairs Manager — Mexico & Latin AmericaThe LATAM (Latin America) Corporate Affairs Lead is responsible for Corporate Affairs strategies, inclusive of strategic communications and patient advocacy, across priority commercial markets in Latin American. This is a dual role that will also serve as the Mexico Corporate Affairs Lead, responsible for developing and executing strategic engagements in this growing affiliate market as well.This role will report to the Sr. Director, Corporate Affairs ELMAC (Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Africa, and Canada), with a dotted reporting line to the VP /Region General Manager of LATAM and General Manager of Mexico. This role will join both the LATAM and Mexico leadership teams.This position ensures strategic alignment with enterprise priorities and regional commercial objectives, while staying aligned to Corporate Affairs responsibilities, governance and processes. Key aspects of the role will be building and protecting the company’s reputation, external stakeholder engagement including with journalists, policy communications, patient advocacy group relationships and an appropriate balance of internal communications.What you will doLet’s do this. In this vital role you will:Partner with regional and Mexico leadership teams to translate leadership priorities into Corporate Affairs plans with measurable impact.Provide proactive strategic counsel to the VP / Region General Manager, anticipating business needs and helping to guide the direction of the Commercial organization within LATAM. This will include narrative development, strategic communications, social media planning and internal communications.Strengthen Mexico’s Corporate Affairs capability as a growth market by advancing an integrated communications and patient advocacy approach aligned to emerging opportunities in advocacy. Lead the Corporate Affairs strategy for Mexico, aligned to the country’s prioritized agenda and develop measurable communications programs to support business objectives.Working in close partnership with Government Affairs, Value & Access, Medical Affairs, Commercial and other key cross-functional partners (e.g., Regulatory, Law, HR), identify regional risks, opportunities, and policy developments, providing proactive communication and stakeholder engagement recommendations.Serve as company spokesperson on Mexico-specific issues; manage messaging, media relations, and narrative positioning. Represent Amgen in leading relationships locally with news media, patient advocacy groups and patients when appropriate.Strengthen engagement with patient advocacy organizations in Mexico and across priority markets by setting the overall approach and enabling country-specific plans, ensuring patient and health care community perspectives are incorporated into strategies and communications.Support crisis and issues management for Mexico, in partnership with global and regional colleagues when needed.Uncover insights and leverage data to map stakeholders and ensure appropriate and aligned messaging across channels: media, social, digital, internal comms, and other stakeholder communications.Develop and execute communication plans for branded product communications, disease education initiatives and employee initiatives.Support Amgen’s corporate reputation through proactive storytelling and thought leadership.Lead balanced internal communications in Mexico to reinforce culture and employee engagement.Directly manage the Corporate Affairs Managers for Brazil and Colombia, providing coaching, performance feedback, and capability development. This role will not have direct reports in Mexico but will work with an external PR agency.Create a “community of practice” for LATAM Corporate Affairs teams, sharing standards, content, best practices, resources and KPI tracking.Provide dotted-line guidance to the Argentina Government Affairs Lead who supports Corporate Affairs activities, ensuring coordination and policy communications and advocacy relations alignment.What we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients.
