Details below. Carolinas Medical Center is the Regional Perinatal Center, a designation given to hospitals offering the highest level of technology and care for high-risk pregnancies and births. Throughout labor and delivery, the maternal fetal medicine specialists and Atrium Health CMC Women's Institute are available around the clock, ensuring the best outcome for mother and baby. We have 23 birthing suites custom-designed for labor, delivery and immediate postpartum recovery. Additionally, Mother Baby Nursing Unit features 36 private patient rooms designed to accommodate couplets—mothers and their newborns. The MBU also features a newborn nursery for newborns requiring continued medical care after maternal discharge and infants whose mothers are transferred to other units within the Women’s Division such as High Risk Post-partum at 18 beds and the 13 bed Antepartum unit.Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health, located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Within the patient sphere, the CNS provides and supports safe, evidenced based and culturally sensitive care. Within the nursing sphere, the CNS leads the advancement of nursing practice to drive nursing excellence and promote a positive practice environment.
