University Health Services (UHS) is an accredited on-campus medical facility dedicated to addressing the diverse healthcare needs of UT Austin students. This is an 11-month work-year position. You will be on unpaid time off for approximately four weeks each fiscal year. The dates will vary each fiscal year and may fluctuate based on business needs. Occasional weekend and holiday coverage as needed. Schedule will be discussed at interview.Purpose To assist health care professionals with the delivery of patient care services and to perform clinical skills as ordered by medical provider.ResponsibilitiesAssists with the evaluation and care of patients to be seen by UHS providersExhibits professionalism, teamwork, and exceptional customer service in all aspects of workPerforms department specific procedures and treatments per UHS Policies and ProceduresActively participates in maintaining a safe and clean working environmentMaintains a level of knowledge conducive to providing high quality patient careDemonstrates regular and punctual attendance patternParticipates in other activities as assigned Required QualificationsHigh school graduation or GEDCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, certificate, or registration as a Medical AssistantCPR certification within 90 days of hireExperience using electronic medical recordsDemonstrated ability to successfully work independentlyMinimum one year of experience in an outpatient clinicExperience with and a moderate comfort level using a personal computerRelevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred QualificationsMore than one year of experience as a Medical AssistantCurrent Medical Assistant Certification (CMA or CCMA)More than one year of experience using electronic medical recordsMore than one year of experience in an ambulatory clinic or college health clinic that provides Gynecological servicesDemonstrated good communication skills, interpersonal skills, team-building skills, and professional demeanor Salary Range$3,633.15 per month(This is an 11-month work-year position. See General Notes.)
