Job Description:PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESGeneral:Perform regular quality inspections on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping according to SOPsPhysical inspection of raw materials. Ensure the warehouse storage environment is acceptable for the materials being inspectedReject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.Supervise the production process if needed.Carry out daily QC inspections in production.Participate in quality-related issues (NCR, RCA).Assist with general QMS maintenanceQC Lab:Assist in general product testing.Receiving of samples in the labViscosityReactivity Test (Exotherm)Analytical Testing (i.e., Amine function, Epoxy index, Water Content, Titration)Preparation of samples for compressive testingRecording of test results into the QC databaseGeneration of CoC / CoA documents, and other customer-required documentsFollow procedures for manufacturing, troubleshooting, and testing using automated instruments, quality controlEnsures that testing and results approval are completed within agreed turnaround timesConduct laboratory internal calibrations as requiredWork with external calibration service providersDocument results and analyze dataConduct retesting of products as needed to support quality investigationsMonitor use and inventories of laboratory chemicals and suppliesMake recommendations for adjusting process conditions to ensure quality standards are metAdhere to safety, health and environmental policies and proceduresMaintain good housekeeping to ensure laboratory and plant cleanlinessRead and understand all customer-standardized test method documents.Participate in Gage R & R studies on lab equipment.Participate in equipment verification.Participate in IATF 16949 activitiesKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREDEssential SkillsGood teamwork and attention to detailInvestigativeGood communication skillsAdequate skills and knowledge of standard laboratory practices and procedures.Good laboratory bench skills. Familiar with hazards, handling, disposal of chemicals, and ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. Demonstrated skills in oral, written, and electronic communication of technical information.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Two to Five years of previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment.Exposure to IATF 16949 standardDegree/Experience in Chemistry or related Sciences discipline.Experience working in an analytical laboratory would be beneficial.
