Job Description SummaryAs a Staff Engineer, you will leverage your experience and technical expertise to solve challenging engineering problems using finite element analysis (FEA). You will develop and execute analysis objectives for yourself and others under your direction, while contributing to both short-term execution and longer-term business goals. You will also demonstrate leadership in communicating program objectives, technical progress, and key processes across your area of responsibility or business segment.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesFormulate and implement finite element stress analysis (FEA) plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and program commitmentsExecute the finite element stress analysis of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirementsCreate finite element models (FEM) as needed using a variety of tools ( ANSYS, Hypermesh, UG, etc)Provide technical and program leadership to domestic and global engineering personnel assigned to support the analysis efforts; mentors others in the organizationMonitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developmentsAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresParticipate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviewsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.A minimum 6 years of experience in an engineering position.GE Aerospace will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.Desired CharacteristicsAdvanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringProficiency in finite element analysisPrevious experience creating and setting up analysis models in ANSYS.Previous experience running finite element analyses using ANSYS or equivalentProven ability to interpret, check and communicate resultsStrong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systemsSolid oral and written communication skillsAbility to successfully work in a team environment    Ability to guide and influence othersStrong interpersonal and leadership skills, with cross-functional experienceThe base pay range for this position is 149,500.00 - 200,000 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
