The TRC has a major focus on exploiting BMS’ expertise in protein degradation to discover and develop therapies aimed at tumor intrinsic vulnerabilities and mechanisms of resistance to existing cancer therapeutics. This focus on protein degradation allows us to attack protein classes that were previously deemed undruggable.Position ResponsibilitiesIn the role as a Senior Associate Scientist within the Integrative Systems Pharmacology team, the ideal candidate will be responsible for but, not limited to:Develop, maintain, and passage mammalian cell lines and patient derived organoids, including the generation of overexpressing and knockout lines, for use in screening and functional assaysDesign and execute assays to assess cell growth, apoptosis, cell cycle progression, and protein expressionManage cryopreservation of tissues and cell linesIndependently analyze and interpret data and present results at project team meetings, group meetings, etc.Collaborate with colleagues in other functional areas including translational research, informatics and chemistry to pursue target validation experiments and support drug discovery effortsMaintain accurate electronic laboratory notebooks in a timely fashion and prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, etc.Stay current with emerging AI tools and best practices relevant to drug discovery and contribute to the adoption of innovative computational approaches within the teamAssist in laboratory operation management dutiesExperience = Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree4+ years of academic and / or industry experienceOrMaster’s Degree2+ years of academic and / or industry experiencePreferred Qualifications:  Hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, including standard 2D and preferably 3D culture systemsProficiency in plate-based cell assays, including CTG, apoptosis, and Incucyte imaging platformsExperience with transfection and viral transduction techniques, including overexpression and CRISPR-based knockout approachesFamiliarity with protein detection methods, including Western blotting; experience with WES/JESS ProteinSimple is a plusExcellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and thorough laboratory recordsEagerness to learn and apply new techniques, instrumentation, and methodologiesAbility to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary teamProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); experience with GraphPad Prism and FlowJo is a plus#LI-OnsiteIf you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.
