Employment Type:Part timeShift:Day ShiftDescription:Generates treatment plans and dose calculations based on prescribed care plan. Works under the general direction of the physicist in Radiation Oncology department.Medical DosimetristPosition SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Medical Dosimetrist to generate precise treatment plans and dose calculations in alignment with prescribed radiation therapy care plans. This role works under the general direction of a Medical Physicist and plays a critical part in ensuring safe, accurate, and effective patient treatment.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and prepare computerized radiation treatment plans based on physician prescriptions.Perform dose calculations, including treatment times and monitor units, for a variety of therapeutic machines.Conduct dosimetry checks on treatment charts to ensure accuracy and compliance.Assist in acquiring patient contours and other measurements required for treatment planning.Collect and analyze patient data necessary for simulation and dose calculations.Support the setup of complex treatment procedures in both simulation and treatment rooms.Collaborate closely with radiation oncologists, therapists, and physicists to optimize patient outcomes.Operate under the guidance and supervision of medical physicists to ensure best practices and safety standards.EducationMinimum: Associate degree in a related fieldPreferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related fieldLicensure & CertificationsRequired: Certification by the Medical Dosimetry Certification Board (MDCB) with current licensure maintainedRequired: Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification within three months of hire and ongoing maintenanceExperienceMinimum: One (1) year of medical dosimetry experienceKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong mathematical and geometry aptitudeAbility to interpret and understand technical and clinical documentation in EnglishProficiency in computerized treatment planning systemsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare teamCritical thinking skills with the ability to exercise independent judgmentExcellent organizational and problem-solving abilitiesWhy Join UsOpportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-centered environmentAccess to cutting-edge technology and treatment methodologiesSupport for continued professional growth and certificationOur Commitment Rooted in our Mission and Core Values, we honor the dignity of every person and recognize the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents each colleague brings.
