Senior Linux System AdministratorCompany:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is currently seeing a Senior Linux Administrator to join the team in Berkeley, MO.As a Linux Administrator, your talents will help us bring logistics, manufacturing, and engineering into a seamless ecosystem. You will work directly on installing, configuring, and maintaining a secure network capable of running and supporting the tools, and more importantly, people involved in this mission.   This position directly supports our Air Dominance (AD), F-15, F-18, P8-A, Apache, Training Systems, Mission Systems, Phantom Works, F-22, or Flight Simulation programs. We provide Enterprise capabilities in the closed networks, including standard office, application development stacks, engineering workflows, vulnerability remediation, etc. Position Responsibilities:Installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing Linux servers and systemsDeveloping custom Linux images for deploymentParticipating in planning and executing upgrades and patches for operating systems and softwareDelivering and maintaining IT infrastructure and services aligned to industry and Boeing enterprise best practicesResponding to system events, user requests, and incidents logged in management systemsPerforming vulnerability assessment and remediationPerforming systems administration using RHEL and Oracle LinuxProviding comprehensive and timely communications to key stakeholdersInstalling, configuring, and maintaining multi-platform systems hardware, software, and components using pre-existing or self-created automated processesTroubleshooting and restoring routine to complex computing service operations (backups/restores, networking, and domain-related functions)Building and maintaining information systems that comply with Joint Special Access Program Implementation Guide / Risk Management Framework (JSIG / RMF) security requirementsIntegrating and configuring security solutions (Trellix, Splunk, HBSS) into information systemsIntegrating security solutions into information systems (duplicate entry — consider removing or consolidating)Developing training guides, knowledge management articles, and documentation of processes and proceduresProviding comprehensive software and integration support in closed environmentsAutomating tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or other platformsEvaluating and effectively communicating complex system problems and resolutions to team members and key stakeholdersUsing scripts to automate deployment and configuration of operating systems or applications, or other similar technologiesBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):CompTIA Security+ certification (or similar certification meeting DoD Directive 8570.01 Certification Requirements) or ability to obtain certification within first 6 months 5+ years of experience with installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering support for RHEL 6 or higher 5+ years of experience with utilizing security relevant tools, systems, and applications in support of Risk Management Framework (RMF) to include: NESSUS, ACAS, DISA STIGs, SCAP, Audit Reduction, and HBSS5+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing secure Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) solutionsPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):10+ years creating and maintaining custom windows or Linux images (isos/VM templates) 10+ years of experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies 5+ years of experience using Trellix ePO configuration and management  5+ years of experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies Management and configuration of Splunk Indexers/Forwarders Experience with developing PowerShell and Linux scripts for hardware integration, automating OS deployment and configuration, and creating and maintaining multiple virtual servers Experience with Kubernetes, Ansible, Docker/Containerization and NessusUnderstanding of networking fundamentals Backup and Restore technologies Conflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria are met as outlined in our policies. Pay & Benefits:At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
