This includes building solutions to provide customized direct index exposure while making tax-sensitive asset allocation decisions to improve overall after-tax portfolio returns.We design and build financial software responsible for the account life cycle that starts with the onboarding of accounts through the management of client activities and investment instructions.We are focused on delivering high-quality, scalable solutions that are cloud-native.ABOUT THE ROLEWe are looking for individuals that have a strong curiosity and passion for learning new things, while continuously challenging oneself to build things better and more scalable. The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for providing technical leadership, project management, process development, training and support. The role will work across and within the Equity Investments and Client Activities team as well as Core Services and externally facing Digital Team.  This role will enhance the Direct Indexing business priorities, to design and develop technology solutions, and to improve business processes. This role spans across many services within the team building out underlying components that will provide critical services to the Equity Portfolio Management Platform.  These services will help streamline the rule-based portfolio analytics, order generation and straight through processing allow for exception driven portfolio management.This position will report into the Equity and Activity Services team and work closely with team leads across Technology teams, Business Analysis as well as Business Partners.  In this role, you will lead developers and projects and provide mentoring opportunities to the development team. A critical objective for this role is to support the architecture and deliver scalable enterprise solutions, leveraging AWS cloud native technologies, designing and implementing micro-services and a relentless focus on performance and resilience.Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop proprietary solutions for the Equity Direct Indexing portfolio management teamsProvide technical leadership to other Software Engineers.Design, develop, and maintain services and API to support various business needsLeverage scalable and distributed computing principles to build the next generation of servicesEnsures that software solutions remain integrated, efficient, and appropriate for a highly regulated industry.Create unit/integration/functional/performance testsMentor new or less senior developersConduct code reviews of other developersShare experience, knowledge, and ideas to the team to improve processes and productivityJOB QUALIFICATIONSSKILL SETRequired Experience: 10+ yearsSkill set: Software design / Dev/ Java / J2EE / relational databasePrimary SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or related area of study10+ years of hands-on development experience managing all aspects of technical projects with a proven track record of delivering well architected and well written software solutions.Experience supervising and guiding software development teams and fostering an engaging, collaborative environment.Strong Java and Spring Boot experienceExperience with microservices and distributed systemsStrong debugging and troubleshooting skillsStrong aptitude for highly efficient data structures and algorithmsCloud native development experience a plus: AWS is preferredExposure to event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka)Working knowledge of SQL , RDBMS ,NoSQL database engines such as Redis, Cassandra, or MongoDBFamiliarity with AI/ML technologies and applicationsProven track record of becoming a subject matter expert in areas related to current assignments.Vision and strategyInfluencing and consensus buildingCommunicationTotal quality commitmentOwnership and accountabilityProject managementA creative, self-confident self-motivator with a "can do" spirit.Passionate, forward thinking and creative individual with high ethical standards and integrity.Ability to collaborate and partner across a diverse team tapping the strength and unique skills of every team member.Assertiveness balanced with a sensitivity toward and concern for people.
