Read more: careers.bms.com/working-with-us.Position SummaryThe Lab Operations team is seeking an Assistant Scientist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment in the Cell Therapy Development & Operations labs. They will play a key role in troubleshooting equipment, escalating corrective maintenance, and scheduling preventative maintenance events. This candidate will also be involved in managing data, contributing continuous improvement using Lean/5S principles, and artificial intelligence where possible. Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Lifecycle ManagementEvaluate capital purchasing of new assets.Perform routine and non-routine maintenance on lab instruments (e.g., biosafety cabinets, temperature-sensitive units, analyzers, pipettes)Respond to emergent equipment issues and implement corrective actionsOperational SupportClean and sterilize lab equipmentAssist with lab organization and efficiency efforts with automation of routine tasksTrack and manage equipment moves and calibration schedules (e.g., pipette calibration events)Operations Excellence work with 5S and Lean Principles to drive laboratory efficiency and continuous improvement.Collaboration & Communication:Interface with warehouse, facilities, EH&S, and end-user groups to ensure compliance and operational continuityCoordinate with external vendors for preventive and corrective service measuresCoordinate and attend meetings as a SME for operational functions.Qualifications Bachelor’s or equivalentDemonstrated ability to work in cross-functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize projects1-2 years of experience working in a scientific laboratory environmentDesired skills: Microsoft ecosystem, continuous improvement mindset, familiarity with scientificIf you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee’s work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience.
