This teaching assignment is located on the Austin Campus. The instructor may be assigned to teach in a traditional classroom, a virtual (online) classroom, or both (multimodal).Activities related to comprehensive community college teaching and learning, including but not limited to:• Instructional planning and delivery;• Teaching and facilitating student learning;• Curriculum planning and development;• Assessment of student performance;• Classroom management;• Maintenance of professional skills and credentials;• Participation in department meetings, coordination activities, and college-wide committeesThe candidate must be able to work cooperatively with faculty and staff, demonstrate knowledge of and experience in assessing student learning outcomes, participate in department meetings and college-wide committees, and maintain ongoing professional development activities.Salary Range:$43,067.00 - $98,660.00The initial salary range is up to $71,893. Full-time faculty work a 171-day contract during a nine-month academic year (mid-August to mid-May).Minimum QualificationsEducation RequirementGraduate degree with a major in nursing, -OR-Bachelor's degree in nursing and a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education.A nursing program director must hold a graduate degree in nursing, nursing administration, nursing education, public health nursing or a nursing clinical specialty. Occupational Experience RequirementTwo full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level.As a registered nurse at the professional level, experientially qualified to accomplish the mission, goals, and expected student and faculty outcomes; including experiential preparation in the areas the faculty will teach. Recency RequirementOne year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years. Professional RequirementCurrent unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota.Other Requirement: Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments. Teaching and Learning Competency RequirementTraining that must be completed within six semesters of hire:In accordance with Board Procedure 3.32.1, Part 8, faculty hired into unlimited positions have 6 full semesters to complete the Teaching and Learning Competency Requirements. These seven courses are provided to new faculty, at no cost, through the Minnesota State Network for Educational Development. Faculty members can take these courses one of three ways: asynchronous online, hybrid 2-weekend intensive, and weeklong intensive.Some courses may be waived for individuals who are the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. Preferred Qualification Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).Experience teaching/tutoring all levels of nursing.Experience with data collection and continuous improvement analysis.Experience with simulation, nursing skills labs, clinical instruction, and lecture(curriculum) development.Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.Demonstrated experience working with multicultural and underserved populations.Other RequirementsA complete online application will include a letter of interest and a resume/curriculum vitae.  Please note that the search committee will not review incomplete applications.This position requires completing employment references and a driver’s license background check.In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State’s Vehicle use criteria and consent to Motor Vehicle Records check. Minnesota State is unable to sponsor Applicants for work visas.
