This position will be part of the Maintenance team.Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is the ability to apply technical knowledge to routine maintenance and troubleshooting activities. It is also essential to be able to work collaboratively with other functions to support site priorities.The Maintenance Technician sits within the Engineering Centre of Excellence (COE) and reports to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.What You Will DoThe primary responsibility of the Maintenance Technician is to support the site by:Performing and documenting maintenance activities to meet maintenance schedulesEnsuring equipment breakdowns are resolved with minimal disruption to the operation, including trouble shooting and resolve non-routine problemsEnsuring all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), corporate and legislative compliance requirements are metWorking closely with customers to organise own daily tasks and support production schedulesParticipation in a call-out roster is required to provide 24-hour support to the facility as neededPreventative and Corrective MaintenanceCarry out preventative maintenance to agreed schedules and SOPsPlan daily tasks with the customer to meet maintenance and production needsRespond promptly to breakdowns and complete corrective maintenance to minimise downtimeTroubleshoot equipment, processes and utilities, and document equipment failuresSupport contamination investigations and plant shutdown activitiesDocumentation and GMP ComplianceComplete maintenance records and routine documentation accurately and on timeRecord work in line with Good Documentation Practice and GMP requirementsWrite simple investigation reports and review assigned SOPsContinuous ImprovementIdentify faults, deviations and opportunities for improvementUse root cause analysis to support problem solvingImplement corrective and preventative actionsContribute to facility and equipment improvement projectsEngineering TeamComplete training in assigned tasks and areasProvide cover for team members when requiredWork in a professional, flexible and collaborative mannerKeep up to date with technical developments in your areaWhat You Must haveExperience in a maintenance or engineering environment, with hands-on involvement in maintenance activitiesTrade Certificate in a relevant discipline (preferred)Tertiary qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Engineering TechnologySkills in welding, pneumatics, and hydraulics (not essential, advantageous)Knowledge of pumps, valves and steam traps (advantageous)Experience with GMP/GLP or ISO 9000 or similar in a production environment (advantageous)Computer Skills: Microsoft Office (e.g. MS Word, Outlook)What You Can ExpectWork autonomously while being supported as part of a trusted global animal health organisationBuild on your technical expertise through ongoing development opportunitiesExperience a wide range of maintenance work that supports your professional growthJoin a collaborative team of skilled professionals who support one anotherWe are proud to be a company that embraces the value of bringing talented and committed people together.
