Junior Data Engineer (Onsite in Austin)

Luna Data Solutions is seeking a Junior Data Engineer for a long term contract opportunity with a State of Texas client. Work Location – Onsite in North Austin Long term contract (40-45 hours a week) We are looking for an Entry to Junior level Data Engineer resource with foundational SQL and database knowledge, strong technical aptitude, and interest in cloud data platforms. While prior enterprise Snowflake experience is preferred, this role is intended to be trainable and grow into supporting internal Enterprise Data Warehouse operations long term. Primary responsibilities would include: Monitoring Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelinesBasic Snowflake troubleshooting and operational supportSQL development and query supportData validation and QA activitiesDashboard/report supportDataset onboarding and data integration supportDocumentation of data flows, pipelines, and operational proceduresSupporting general EDW/database administration activities Required Experience/Skills Foundational SQL skillsFoundational Python skillsBasic understanding of ETL/data pipeline conceptsDatabase administration or data warehousing coursework/experienceStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsAbility to work onsite and collaborate directly with internal IT staff Preferred Skills Exposure to Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, or similar cloud data platforms would be a plus but not required This is an onsite contract opportunity based in Austin, TX and no sponsorship can be provided.
