Role: Cloud Engineer Duration: 30 Months City: New York State: New York Zip: 10004 Title: Cloud Engineer (GCP / Terraform / DevOps) Total Required Experience in Years: 5+ Years Mode of Work: Hybrid (Up to 50% Telecommuting) Job Description The selected consultant will support the development, automation, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise cloud infrastructure and DevOps platforms within Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will focus on infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipeline development, cloud operations, observability, and Kubernetes administration while working closely with senior engineers in a collaborative and mentorship-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Provision and manage GCP infrastructure using Terraform.Support Compute Engine, networking, IAM, Secret Manager, and Cloud Storage services.Manage cloud resources across development, test, and production environments.Migrate manually provisioned resources into Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks.Ensure cloud environments follow security and governance standards. DevOps & CI/CD Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using:Cloud BuildGitHub ActionsGitHub WorkflowsSupport automated deployments and release management processes.Maintain development workflows and deployment automation.Troubleshoot build and deployment issues. Kubernetes & Platform Operations Support GKE cluster operations and workload deployments.Manage namespaces, application deployments, and cluster configurations.Assist development teams with platform onboarding.Monitor and optimize platform performance. Monitoring & Observability Support Splunk log forwarding and monitoring solutions.Configure alerting, dashboards, and operational monitoring.Support observability initiatives across cloud environments.Assist with troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Security & Governance Manage IAM roles and permissions.Support secrets management and secure application deployments.Maintain SonarQube integrations for code quality and security scanning.Implement security best practices across cloud environments. Agile Delivery Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint planning.Support project delivery and technical documentation.Collaborate with platform engineering and application development teams. Required Skills 5+ years of Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, or Systems Administration experience.3+ years of GCP experience including:Compute EngineCloud StorageVPC NetworkingIAMSecret Manager3+ years of Terraform experience.3+ years building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.3+ years of GitHub and Git workflow experience.Experience with:Kubernetes (GKE)DockerCloud BuildGitHub ActionsKnowledge of Python and Bash scripting.Experience working in Agile environments.Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
