Founding Frontend EngineerLocation: Boston, MA (Onsite) Employment Type: Full-time Compensation: Starting at $220,000+We are looking for a Founding Frontend Engineer to help build and define the user-facing layer of an AI-driven platform operating at the intersection of data, research, and real-world decision-making. This role is ideal for an engineer who combines strong frontend expertise with product intuition and is excited to shape both the technical foundation and user experience from the ground up.You will work closely with founding engineers, researchers, and product leadership to design and build interfaces that make complex system outputs intuitive, interpretable, and actionable. This is a highly hands-on role with significant ownership in a true early-stage environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and build modern frontend applications using React, TypeScript, and contemporary UI frameworksOwn the frontend architecture and establish best practices early in the product lifecycleTranslate complex data and system outputs into intuitive, high-quality user experiencesCollaborate closely with backend engineers and research teams to define data flows and interfacesBuild interfaces that support dynamic, data-heavy, and model-driven workflowsContribute to design systems, interaction patterns, and overall frontend standardsWork directly with product and technical stakeholders to shape features from concept through launchOptimize performance, scalability, and usability across the frontend stackHelp define the engineering culture, tooling, and technical direction as part of the founding teamQualifications5+ years of experience building modern frontend or full stack applicationsStrong proficiency with React, TypeScript, and modern frontend toolingExperience building and maintaining scalable, production-grade web applicationsStrong product intuition and ability to design user-centric interfacesExperience working in early-stage or fast-moving startup environmentsAbility to operate with ambiguity and take ownership of complex problemsStrong collaboration skills working across engineering, product, and research teamsInterest or experience working with AI-driven systems, data platforms, or model-based productsNice to HaveExperience building interfaces for data-intensive or scientific applicationsExposure to ML, AI systems, or model outputs in product environmentsExperience working closely with research or data science teamsBackground contributing to design systems or frontend infrastructureExperience in highly technical or domain-heavy product environmentsCompensation & PerksBase salary starting at $220,000+Founding engineer equity participationOnsite team environment in BostonFoundational role with high ownership and impact
