If you're hungry to engineer something that matters, Scout Motors is where that ambition finds its highest gear.  Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: Lead Safety Strategy Meeting  Maintain Vehicle Level Safety Targets/Status  Local Safety Health Chart  USNCAP Targets/Status  IIHS Targets/Status  Competitive Benchmarking for performance, design and efficiency  Signoff Planning  Generate and own signoff plan / CDP  Identification of crash families, worst case variants etc  Drive efficient vehicle, sled and CAE signoff plan  Secure safety cross functional team alignment  Identify risks and opportunities and risk management strategies  Own & track vehicle, sled, and component test plans mapped to program timing  Define vehicle count and rehit strategy  Support prototype planning workstream  Track test issues to closure  Location & Travel Expectations: This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC or Novi, Michigan. This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events.  Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. Here's what else you'll bring:  Education/Certifications: A Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, systems engineering, or a related technical field.  Years of Experience: 8-10 years of experience in developing and integrating vehicle safety systems, body structures and occupant protection systems covering all phases of development (design, testing, launch).  Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills   Strong understanding of vehicle safety principles, regulations, and standards  Strong technical skills and expertise in Vehicle Safety employing a 1st Principles approach to problem-solving  Familiarity with computer aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field  Ability to build strong working relationships with individuals at all organization levels  What you'll gain The benefits of joining Scout include the chance to build products and a company from the ground up.  This is a chance to create something new and lasting – with an iconic brand at its foundation.  In addition, Scout provides competitive compensation and benefits to support your physical, mental, and financial wellbeing. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
