In this critical role within Global Customer Capabilities & Innovation (GCCI), reporting to VP GCCI, the Associate Vice President will lead the strategy, development, and operationalization of advanced data and analytics capabilities across our Analytics & Insights engine, Data Management, and Decision Sciences.This leader will shape how data, AI, and advanced analytics are leveraged to enable faster, more informed decision-making and enhanced customer impact across the enterprise. The role partners closely with enterprise and functional leaders to translate business priorities into scalable, innovative data solutions aligned with Amgen’s long-term strategy.Strategy, Innovation & GovernanceShape and execute the data and analytics strategy for GCCI, aligned with enterprise priorities and customer-centric outcomesInfluence cross-functional alignment on data, AI, and decision science priorities, ensuring focus on highest-value opportunitiesLead the evolution of data governance, stewardship, and standards within GCCI in alignment with enterprise frameworksServe as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, bringing external perspective and industry-leading practices in data and AIDrive innovation through the adoption of emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, advanced analytics platforms)Capability Leadership (Analytics & Insights engine, Data Management, Decision Sciences)Lead and scale integrated capabilities across:Analytics & Insights engine (AI/advanced analytics enablement)Data Management (data quality, master data, data lifecycle)Decision Sciences (marketing mix modeling, predictive analytics, advanced modeling)Ensure delivery of scalable, reusable data assets and analytical products that drive measurable business valuePartner with technology and business teams to enable modern, interoperable data architecture aligned with FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable) and Clean Core principlesOversee prioritization and execution of key programs, balancing innovation with operational excellenceOperational ExcellenceEstablish operating models, KPIs, and governance to ensure effective execution across GCCI capabilitiesDrive continuous improvement of data quality, accessibility, and usabilityEnsure reliable delivery and performance of critical data and analytics platformsLeadership & TalentLead a team of Executive Directors and Directors, building a high-performing, globally distributed organizationDevelop leadership bench strength and long-term talent strategy aligned with GCCI and enterprise needsFoster a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaborationChampion diversity, inclusion, and engagement across teamsStakeholder EngagementPartner with senior business and functional leaders to align data capabilities with strategic prioritiesAct as a key liaison across GCCI, technology, and business functionsRepresent GCCI in enterprise forums and high-impact initiativesWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
