We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.Lilly is currently constructing an advanced manufacturing facility for production of API molecules located in Houston, TX.  This facility is intended to provide APIs for current and future products, including new modalities.  This is a unique opportunity to be a part of the site technical team for the startup of a greenfield manufacturing site, and the successful candidate will help to build the Processes, the facility and the culture to enable a successful startup into GMP manufacturing operations.  Responsibilities:As a Process Control and Automation Engineer (I&C) you will be responsible for providing continuous supporting automation platforms. This support includes troubleshooting process interruptions, field devices diagnostics, communications intermittencies, and platform security events. Also, this position will support and contribute with technical expertise to enhance Automation Systems performance and operability. Key Deliverables:Safety – Work safely and continually looks for improvements in personnel and equipment safety, ensure safe design and operation of new equipment, ensure automation design reflects safety concerns for operations and maintenance.Automation/Control DisciplinePartner with colleagues to properly support and enhance the Automated Systems and Equipment.Perform solution assessment and performance reviews and verify the proper and efficient operation of the automated systems.Partner with colleagues to support the discipline through solution assessment, replication, and development.Manage tools, and implement engineering standards, master specifications and best practices.Provide technical coaching and consultation to other Lilly engineers and facilitate shared learning forums.Support Projects and the integration of new equipment/technologies to the manufacturing workflow.Technology and Innovation. Keep current on external trends and practices to evaluate technology for application within Lilly. Basic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Technology, or a related fieldMinimum 8 years’ experience in Industrial Equipment Control, API Manufacturing Process control, Utilities Automation or Environmental Control Systems.Working experience troubleshooting Instrumentation and control integrations.Significant experience and strong problem-solving skills in measurements, control (process and/or manufacturing), control systems, integration, and data.Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
