Apprentices will gain foundational skills supporting either semiconductor equipment handling or Facilities systems, based on business need, proficiency, and progression.This earn and learn program is developed to align with your academic schedule while providing real‑world experience maintaining, fixing, and improving critical manufacturing and infrastructure systems.Program ScopeRegistered Technician Apprentices could be assigned to:Fab Equipment Operations:Supporting semiconductor production tools used in wafer manufacturingFacilities & Infrastructure Systems:Supporting HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and facility control systems critical to fab operationsFinal pathway placement may depend on operational demand, apprentice performance, and shown interest.Key ResponsibilitiesAdhere to all registered apprenticeship guidelines, program requirements, and instructions from the program leadComplete required safety training and perform all work in strict accordance with safety policiesDemonstrate strong safety culture through audits, hazard identification, and “good catch” reportingPartner with Production, Shift Technicians, Engineers, and Facilities teams to support daily prioritiesMonitor system or tool performance and respond appropriately to alarms, faults, or abnormal conditionsAssist with scheduled preventative maintenance on assigned equipment or systemsIdentify and fix basic to intermediate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or software‑related issuesAccurately document work performed, tool or system status, and maintenance actionsFollow established procedures while developing the capacity to operate with growing independenceContribute to continuous improvement, reliability, and problem‑solving initiativesWork in cleanroom, industrial, and electro‑static discharge (ESD) sensitive environmentsUse computers and user documentation tools to support maintenance and reporting activitiesDepending on assignment, apprentices may be exposed to:Fab Equipment Examples:Diffusion / Implant, PCVD, Wet Chemical Processing, Dry Etch / Plasma, CMP, Photolithography, Fab Support toolsFacilities Systems Examples:HVAC systems, facility instrumentation and controls, electrical and mechanical infrastructure, pneumatic systems, building automation systems, monitoring and alarm interfacesPreferred QualificationsCoursework or hands‑on exposure to electronics, electricity, HVAC, instrumentation, mechatronics, or industrial systemsBasic understanding of AC/DC electrical fundamentalsExposure to manufacturing, maintenance, military technical training, or lab environmentsFamiliarity with reading schematics, drawings, or technical manualsInterest in semiconductor manufacturing or critical infrastructure systemsWhat Micron OffersPaid Registered Apprenticeship with structured wage progressionTuition support for approved technical education programsHands‑on training with sophisticated manufacturing and facilities systemsMentorship from expert Technicians and EngineersMultiple long‑term career pathways: Fab Equipment Technician or Facilities Technician (HVAC, Controls, Instrumentation)A strong safety‑first culture and inclusive team environmentAs a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth.
