Job TitleFBS Senior AnalystAgencyTexas A&M UniversityDepartmentUAS University Accounting ServicesProposed Minimum SalaryCommensurateJob LocationCollege Station, TexasJob TypeStaffJob DescriptionA Glimpse of the JobThe Finance & Business Services Senior Analyst is responsible for providing accounting or business support to designated unit, department, college, or other System member; providing support to FBS leadership and serving as a resource within their unit for other staff members; leading, auditing, reporting, reconciling, tracking, reviewing, or approving actions on their designated accounts and/or assigned duties; providing strategic input; and initiating process improvement as needed.Essential DutiesAccounting/Business SupportExhibits mastery in executing, reviewing, and auditing complex accounting and financial transactionsAssists in setting strategic and programmatic financial and budget goalsAssists in performing Annual Financial Report (AFR) tasksDevelops and prepares financial presentations, reports, financial models, and projectionsAssists with establishing, analyzing, and reviewing rates for complianceOffice Leadership SupportProvides reports and executive-level communication and customer service to VP’s, Deans, Department Heads, and other senior staffInitiates process improvements to enhance efficiencies and workflowsAssists in preparing annual budget allocations to departments, position budgeting tasks, commitment tracking, and departmental budget requestsTracks internal projects, audits, business records, and records managementCoordinates access requestsOversees or leads a function or serves as a subject matter expert in one or more areasResearch policies, practices, and/or trouble transactions for solutionsPrepares and maintains standard operating procedures and internal resource documentsMay research project coordination with Sponsored Research Services and other campus groupsMay review and revise job aides as neededMay supervise student workersMay mentor or train subordinate staff membersDepartment SpecificDesigns and delivers structured reports to improve operational efficiency for TAMU and other shared services membersAssists with modernization efforts across database architecture, including development, reconfiguration, and automated reporting/workflow solutions, to support evolving business needsFulfills ad hoc reporting requests and provide expertise on data warehouse data and other reporting toolsMaintains and enhances data accuracy, reporting quality, and data integritySupports development and delivery of training materials and sessions for Business Objects and reporting toolsDocument processes, workflows, and troubleshooting guides while contributing to continuity planning and knowledge transferProvides data support for open records requests, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable regulationsProvides support to the System Office and system members, offering data insights and reporting assistance as requestedWhat You Need to KnowSalary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience.
