And you can too, so bring your energy to ours.As an Environmental Specialist III or IV, you will need functional and technical expertise and skills in NEPA processes, as well as in water, cultural resources and natural resource permitting. In this role, you will manage projects and programs of moderate complexity that require a specialized breadth of expertise!Your work will challenge you, and with our Core Values to guide you, you’ll quickly learn and grow with us.Responsibilities/Expectations:Develops and maintains environmental policies, processes, and compliance documentation; interprets federal, state, and local regulations to ensure adherenceAssesses environmental risks, recommends mitigation strategies, and executes approved actions, including preparation of required regulatory documentationLeads or supports environmental project planning activities such as scheduling, cost estimation, impact assessments, and reportingPrepares and submits complex environmental permit applications, renewals, approvals, and variances, and maintains accurate permitting schedules aligned with project milestonesConducts environmental compliance audits and due diligence investigations; identifies training needs and provides guidance, mentorship, and training to othersMonitors regulatory changes (e.g., FERC, NEPA, Clean Water Act, ESA, NHPA) and evaluates impacts on project timelines, costs, and compliance obligationsCoordinates construction-phase compliance requirements (e.g., FERC certificate conditions, spill prevention, and restoration commitments) and track implementation to closureDevelops, recommends, and implements improvements in air, water, waste management, and remediation systems; cultivates relationships with regulatory agencies and prepares status reports and briefings for leadership and project stakeholdersOther duties as assignedEnvironmental Specialist IVEducation/Years of Experience:Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum eight (8) years’ environmental experienceEnvironmental Specialist IIIEducation/Years of Experience:Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum four (4) years’ environmental experienceOther Requirements:Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skillsStrong knowledge of federal and state environmental permitting processes, including FERC and NEPA requirementsAbility to manage multiple permits across large-scale projects with aggressive deadlinesSkilled in developing permitting timelines and integrating them into overall project schedulesExcellent written and verbal communication skills for agency coordination and stakeholder engagementAbility to lead cross-functional teams and manage external consultants effectivelyCommitment to environmental stewardship and regulatory complianceProactive approach to identifying and resolving permitting challenges#LI-KM2About Houston (Williams Tower Location):Our Houston office is located in the Williams Tower, just steps from the Houston Galleria on Post Oak Boulevard, an area with more than 700 retailers, fine dining and hotels within two square miles.
