We are looking for a Senior Lead Engineer to oversee the architecture and development of RFID-driven, intelligent systems that enhance visibility, accuracy, and operational efficiency across retail stores.Important ResultsOffer technical expertise and thought leadership to support our strategy and transformation into a world-class, AI-forward retailerCollaborate with Product teams and engineers to develop intelligent applications that enhance consumer experiences and boost revenueCommunicate complex technical and AI-driven solutions in clear, business-friendly languageWork with Business, Product, and IT leadership to identify challenges and opportunities for automation and agentic workflowsLead a team of engineers to design scalable solutions for tracking inventory, automating store processes, and providing real-time and predictive insights using RFID and AIAbout the JobDesign and implement end-to-end microservices and cloud-native solutions on GCP, applying OOP principles, algorithms, data structures, DBMS/SQL, and top-tier software engineering practicesBuild mobile and web applications spanning multiple store touchpoints and RFID-enabled operational workflowsEmbed agentic AI capabilities into inventory workflows — enabling autonomous decision-making, predictive insights, and intelligent process automation across store operationsIntegrate LLM-based tooling and AI agents into backend services to reduce manual intervention and surface proactive recommendations to store teamsConduct detailed analysis of requirements and technical environments to design high-quality, scalable solutionsManage multiple projects independently, prioritize, and handle high-pressure situationsStakeholder management with Business and IT leadershipMaintain comprehensive documentation of code, architecture, and AI workflows; contribute to the team's repository of best practices and reusable solutionsGuide automated and self-service solutions to decrease incident resolution timesSet guidelines and governance for code reviews, branching strategy, test automation, and observabilityLead and mentor other team membersWork within Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) across globally distributed teamsAbout You10+ years of experience with at least 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development and 3+ years as a technical leadBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related disciplinePrevious experience in retail or e-commerce domain, building solutions with cross-functional teamsExposure to AI/ML integrations, LLM APIs (Vertex AI, OpenAI, or similar), or agentic frameworks (LangChain, CrewAI, or similar) is a strong plusRFID exposure preferred; experience with GCP preferredBuilder mindset with a growth path toward broader architectural leadershipTechnology ExpertiseProficiency in Java, Python, Node.js, or similar; strong GCP cloud deployment experienceExpertise in designing high-performing, resilient cloud-native applications and microservices with focus on NFRsExperience integrating AI/ML models or LLM APIs into production systems (Vertex AI, OpenAI, or similar)Familiarity with agentic orchestration patterns and workflows as applied to operational use casesUnderstanding of New Relic and other observability toolsIntegration and API ManagementExperience with REST APIs, async/sync communication patterns, API versioning, documentation, and monitoringExperience with event-driven systems and data streaming (Kafka, MQTT)Exposure to integration platforms such as Mulesoft, SAP PO/BTP, BoomiDevOps and CI/CDHands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub ActionsAutomation-first test strategy with regression-tested code deliveryCloud and ContainerizationProficient in Kubernetes, Docker, serverless architecture, and cloud-native messaging (Kafka, GCP Pub/Sub, IBM MQ)Test-Driven DevelopmentExperience writing test-driven code; ability to define team-wide test strategy with low-touch automation focusDatabase ManagementHands-on with RDBMS, NoSQL, Postgres, RedisSecurity and ComplianceIn-depth knowledge of OWASP principles, authentication mechanisms, and encryption within microservices and cloud environmentsCollaboration and FlexibilityCoordinate and track multiple deliverables across global partnersWillingness to work flexible hours to accommodate global project needs and team collaborationsBenefitsWe put a lot of thought into our programs to provide you with a benefits package that matters.
