Department:ICE | WISL Nursing Srv Perinatal IP CDepartment's Website:Summary of Job Duties:This posting will fill multiple positions.The Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a trained member of the unit based team who supports the on-going delivery of care as identified by the multidisciplinary Patient Management Team. The PCT works under the direct supervision of the R.N. and performs tasks and duties which do not require a license, professional judgment or intervention. The PCT must pass the required competencies. The PCT works within the Department of Nursing standards. The PCT adheres to UAMS clinical programs, policies, procedures and standards and guest care guidelines.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED.Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethics and accountability.Successful completion of patient care technician course is required within 3 months of employment.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in an ambulatory care setting.Healthcare/Patient Care experience.CPR Certified/Licensed.Additional Information:Responsibilities:Meet and greet all persons to the maternal-infant divisionMaintain security of unit through A-phone systemDirect and escort visitors to appropriate areasComplete check in procedure for all visitors to the maternal-infant divisionPerform visitor and sibling screens as neededFacilitate entry of visitors to all secured areasMake parent/visitor badges as neededAnswer and transfer phone calls Admit out-patient babies for procedures and out-patient maternal consultsRelieve co-workers for breaks and lunchAssist co-worker with high volume at patient services deskComplete admission process to include assembling chart for NICU inpatient andassist with F5 MBU maternal and infant patientsBreakdown patient charts after dischargeCopy patient chart for infant transfer to ACH and other unitsCheck tube station every 15 minutes and deliver contents to appropriate personnelRefill paper in copiers, printers, and fax machinesPrint and restock patient labels in notebook at patient services deskPerform hearing screens and complete all associated paperworkPrint bed control reportMay perform other duties as assignedPhysical Requirements:Stand: FrequentlySit: OccasionallyWalk: FrequentlyBend, crawl, crouch, kneel, stoop or reach overhead: OccasionallyLift and carry weight: 100+ lbs.Push and pull weight: 100+ lbs.Use hands to touch, handle or feel: FrequentlyTalk: FrequentlyHear: ContinuouslyTaste or smell: OccasionallyRead, concentrate, and think analytically: ContinuouslyPhysical Environment: Inside Medical Facility EnvironmentNoise Level: ModerateVisual Requirements: Color discrimination, Depth perception, Far visual acuity, Near visual acuitySalary Information:Commensurate with education and experienceRequired Documents to Apply:ResumeOptional Documents:List of three Professional References (name, email, business title), Proof of Veteran StatusSpecial Instructions to Applicants:Recruitment Contact Information:Please contact askrecruitment@uams.edu for any recruiting related quest
