As the world leader in serving science, our laboratory professionals bring their commitment to accuracy and quality to deliver groundbreaking innovations. Discover Impactful Work: As a Sr Research Scientist or Research Scientist, you will oversee complex analytical development and/or specialty technologies projects to create new analytical methods, enhance existing methods, and transfer client-provided methods using multiple instrumentation techniques (HPLC, GC, UPLC, ICP-MS, LC/MS, GC/MS etc.) and multiple detection techniques (UV, FL, CAD, ELSD, IC etc.). Provide technical and regulatory consulting to internal groups and clients about their programs. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to senior staff members in performing laboratory activities. Routinely act as the technical project leader for multiple projects, interacts with clients to provide technical project updates, reviews and evaluates data, writes reports and protocols. Summarized Purpose: Oversees facilities operations of a site including site services, building or equipment maintenance, spaceplanning, and/or engineering projects. Implements policies, standards, services and programs, ensuring a  high level of service, quality, timeliness and cost-effectiveness.Essential Functions and Other Job Information: Essential FunctionsCoordinates facility construction and/or remodeling and oversees the placementand administration of all outside contracts for space planning, architectural,engineering, and construction services when assigned.Assists in the coordination, scheduling, budgeting and completion of long-rangefacility planning, real estate acquisition, and disposal.Generates purchase requisitions for furniture purchases and other capitalexpenditures.Maintains monthly and yearly records of expenditures.Prepares funding requests for facility projects and maintains project budgets,cost records, status, and schedules.Directs space allocation, space standards and usage. Ensures operating groupsare provided with required space.Generates monthly forecasts of "Capital Needs" expenditures.Prepares periodic manpower forecasts and space projections.Recruits, trains and develops employeesQualifications: Education and Experience:Previous experience provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to5+ years).1+ year of leadership responsibilityIn some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the roleKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of cost accounting, project cost management and budgetingStrong computer skills, including use of CAD/CAFMExcellent project management skillsGeneral understanding of construction process and code requirementsStrong knowledge of furniture design and space planning techniquesUnderstanding of UCC and Bid/Contract ProceduresUnderstanding of Leases and Lease termsExcellent written and oral communication skillsManagement Role:Manages experienced professionals and / or subordinate management who exercise latitude andindependence in their assignments.
