From advocating for seat belts, air bags and graduated driving laws, to being an industry leader in pricing sophistication, telematics, and, more recently, device and identity protection. Job DescriptionThe Project & Program Management Expert is an individual contributor role responsible for leading complex, enterprise-wide initiatives that advance Allstate’s strategic priorities, customer-focused outcomes, and Talent Enablement objectives. The role provides end-to-end leadership and expertise across planning, governance, stakeholder alignment, risk management, execution, and value realization while operating with a high degree of autonomy in a matrixed environment. Success in this role requires the ability to translate business goals into clear roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes; connect initiatives to enterprise strategy and value realization; and ensure scope, timeline, resources, and dependencies are aligned from the outset. The role also requires strong enterprise thinking, disciplined execution, and the ability to role model Allstate’s Shared Purpose, Values, and Behaviors through collaboration, constructive challenge, clarity, and actionable feedback.Key ResponsibilitiesLead planning, execution, and delivery of complex, multi-workstream programs aligned to enterprise strategy, transformation, and Talent Enablement prioritiesTranslate business goals into clear roadmaps, milestones, and measurable outcomes tied to value realization and customer impactDrive delivery across scope, timeline, budget, and quality with strong governance, tracking, and reporting disciplineBuild trusted partnerships across executives, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders; influence decisions and drive alignment without formal authorityCommunicate complex concepts through clear, executive-ready insights, reporting, and recommendations on progress, risks, and trade-offsIdentify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and change impacts to protect delivery and maintain momentumLead cross-functional teams and forums to ensure accountability, decision-making, and successful executionDrive outcomes and adoption by focusing on benefits realization and integrating change, communication, and implementation activitiesQualifications & Functional SkillsStrong expertise in project and program management, governance, and structured delivery within complex, matrixed organizationsProven ability to lead enterprise work through influence, building alignment, engagement, and accountability across diverse stakeholdersStrong business acumen with the ability to translate strategic priorities into executable roadmaps, measurable outcomes, and business impactExcellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, including executive presence and trust-building capabilitiesAdvanced analytical, problem-solving, and risk management skills, including assessing trade-offs and recommending mitigation strategiesExceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complexity into clear, actionable, executive-ready messagingStrong execution discipline with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining governance, tracking, and reporting rigorExperience with enterprise project management, reporting, and collaboration tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel dashboards, Teams, SharePoint, Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Project)Experience8+ years of experience in project management, program management, business transformation, operations, or a related fieldExperience leading large, cross-functional initiatives with high complexity, enterprise visibility, and multiple dependenciesProven experience developing roadmaps, governance materials, executive communications, status reporting, and risk management approachesExperience working across business, technology, operations, and Talent Enablement in a matrixed environment, achieving results through influence and partnershipSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis is an individual contributor role with no formal people leadership responsibilitiesSuccess in this role requires leading through influence, establishing clarity, and driving accountability across stakeholdersExpected to role model Allstate’s Values and Behaviors and contribute to strong, collaborative ways of workingAllstate provides a comprehensive technology setup, including a laptop, monitors, headset, keyboard, and mouse. Employees eligible to work from home also receive a monthly connectivity reimbursement to help offset internet costs.When working from home, you must have a dedicated, private workspace free from distractions, along with appropriate desk and seating.
