Job Title: Senior Associate – Software Development (Java Full Stack)Role OverviewWe are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate with strong expertise in Java, Oracle Database, and React JS to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, agile environment.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain scalable applications using Java, Oracle (PL/SQL), and React JSCollaborate with Business Analysts and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutionsPerform coding, unit testing, debugging, and implementation of software componentsParticipate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practicesContribute to Agile development processes including stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectivesTroubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutions by analyzing logs and application behaviorMaintain version control using Git and ensure proper branching strategiesWork with cloud-based deployments and development environments on AWSRequired Skills & Experience3 to 5 years of experience in software developmentStrong programming experience in Java / J2EEHands-on experience with Oracle database (SQL, PL/SQL)Front-end development experience using React JS, JavaScript, HTML, CSSExperience with Git-based source control systemsExposure to AWS (development/deployment level)Good understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologiesCore CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in a collaborative team environmentEffective verbal and written communication skillsAbility to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentGood to HaveExperience working in Financial Services domain (preferred)Familiarity with frameworks such as Spring Boot / Microservices architectureExposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldAdditional NotesCandidate should demonstrate ownership, accountability, and continuous learning mindsetAbility to work independently while contributing effectively to team goalsAbout State StreetAcross the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
