Job Title: Senior Associate – Functional QA / Software TestingRole OverviewWe are looking for a detail-oriented Senior Associate – Functional QA with 3–5 years of experience in software testing. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in manual/functional testing, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in an Agile delivery environment.Key ResponsibilitiesUnderstand business requirements, functional specifications, and translate them into detailed test scenarios and test casesPerform functional, integration, system, and regression testing to ensure application qualityExecute test cases, log defects, and track them through resolution using standard defect management toolsParticipate in test planning, estimation, and execution activities across releasesCollaborate with Developers, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to clarify requirements and resolve issuesSupport User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production validation activitiesEnsure adherence to SDLC and Agile processes, including sprint ceremonies and reportingMaintain test documentation including test plans, test cases, and test results aligned to project standardsRequired Skills & Experience3 to 5 years of experience in Functional / Manual TestingStrong knowledge of Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) and SDLC methodologiesHands-on experience in:Test case design and executionDefect management and reportingTest data preparation and validationGood understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologiesExposure to testing tools such as JIRA, ALM, or similar tools (based on typical internal practices)Basic understanding of:SQL / Database testingAPI testing concepts (preferred but not mandatory)Core CompetenciesStrong analytical thinking and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and ability to identify edge casesGood communication and collaboration skillsAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented environmentAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentGood to HaveExperience in Financial Services domainExposure to test automation conceptsUnderstanding of CI/CD or DevOps processesQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fieldAdditional NotesCandidate should demonstrate ownership, accountability, and a quality-first mindsetStrong willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and technologiesAbout State StreetAcross the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
