As a Quality Assurance Director within PNC's C&IB organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA or Dallas, TX.Domain Director, Quality Engineering – DigitalRole SummaryThe Director, Quality Engineering for Digital, leads quality outcomes for customer‑facing and partner‑facing platforms. This role enables speed with stability by embedding adaptive, insight‑driven quality practices into modern engineering workflows and delivery pipelines.Reporting Line & Scope• Reports to: Head of C&IB Quality Engineering• Leads: QE Managers / Senior Managers, QE Leads, Architects, ICs• Scope: Digital platforms and channels; rapid release cadence; vendor delivery• Key partners: Engineering Leaders, Product & UX Leadership, Architecture, Platform Engineering, DevOps/SRE, Risk & ControlDomain Context• Digital platforms operate at high velocity with strong expectations for experience quality, availability, and performance. Quality must scale without becoming a bottleneck.Key Accountabilities• Own quality outcomes across digital delivery portfolios• Embed pipeline quality gates and continuous validation practices• Improve automation signal quality and reduce flaky execution• Establish standards for performance, accessibility, and resiliency validation• Lead people, capacity planning, and vendor executionResponsibilities• Define risk‑aligned test strategies for rapid delivery• Partner with Product and UX to improve acceptance quality• Use execution trends to refine coverage and prioritization• Coordinate environment and test data readiness with enablement teams• Provide leadership‑level quality and readiness reporting• Success Measures• Increased release frequency without increased incidents• Improved automation reliability and pipeline confidence• Reduced customer‑impact defects• Faster detection and resolution of quality issuesQualifications• 15+ years QE/Engineering experience; 8–10+ years leadership• Strong automation and CI/CD integration experience• Ability to influence senior engineering and product leadersPNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance. Evaluates emerging trends for potential implementation.Champions quality and drives increased efficiency and effectiveness related to how we delivery testing. Partners with peers to ensure that the software development standards and practices related to quality are ingrained in any and all software design and development.Partner internally with testing teams and with partners to solve problems and improve processes. Escalates concerns and potential solutions to senior management as appropriate.Interpret testing results with both a business and technical lens to make a final implementation recommendation. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry-relevant experience is typically 8+ years. At least 5 years of prior management experience is typically required. Proven leadership experience with a moderate to large scope of responsibility is required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
