Job DescriptionThe College of Arts & Sciences has an outstanding opportunity for an HR Manager to join their team.Reporting to the Director of Personnel Services, the HR Manager delivers end-to-end HR support through close collaboration with academic leadership, finance partners, and shared service teams. As an HR Manager in the College Business Office, you will provide comprehensive human resources support to the Social Sciences 2 cohort, contributing across staff, student, and academic HR functions.This position will support the following departments and programs and will serve as a key HR resource, ensuring personnel actions are accurate, timely, and aligned with university policies:Department of GeographyDepartment of HistoryDepartment of Law, Societies & JusticeDepartment of Political ScienceDisability Studies programCenter for Labor Studies This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, partnership, and applying HR expertise across multiple employee groups in a complex academic environment.This role is located on the Seattle campus and operates on a Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule. While primarily onsite, the position may offer up to two remote workdays per week.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the academic human resources adviser and serve as an academic personnel reference for units. Manage all aspects of faculty hires, reappointments, leave requests, FMLA requests and sabbatical requests.  Ensure relevant and appropriate packets are created and submitted for requisite employment actions.  Work closely with department chairs to form the appropriate faculty committees for faculty life-cycle actions, including temporary hires, and ensure all committee actions are completed on time. Complete the quarterly payroll roster for each unit and submit to College’s Shared Environment. Submit individual HR/payroll tickets to the Shared Environment as necessary. (40%)Serve as the student employment expert for units. Manage all aspects of academic student employee hires, including ASEs and hourly employees. Work closely with department faculty leadership to create offer letters for annual or quarterly appointments.  Work with faculty leadership and finance manager to ensure fellowships and stipends are issued, and students are hired in a timely fashion.  Assist faculty in hiring other types of hourly, temporary employees as requires. (35%)Work in partnership with the Finance Manager, ensuring they are informed of hires, leaves, etc. and their impact on planned spend.   Ensure that front line staff have appropriate information regarding time sheet completion etc. (20%)Other duties as assigned.
