Our team represents an exceptional client base ranging from Fortune 100 companies and leading universities to innovative startups, emerging brands, and entrepreneurs. This is an exciting opportunity for a trademark professional who enjoys managing complex domestic and international trademark portfolios, working directly with clients, and contributing to high-level brand protection strategies. You'll work alongside experienced intellectual property attorneys on a wide variety of trademark, enforcement, portfolio management, and brand protection matters.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare, file, and manage U.S. trademark applications and related prosecution matters through USPTO trademark filing systems. Draft and prepare routine trademark prosecution and maintenance documents for attorney review, including applications, amendments, responses, Statements of Use, extensions, declarations, renewals, assignments, and other recordation documents. Maintain and quality-check trademark dockets; track deadlines for domestic and foreign filings, renewals, maintenance requirements, TTAB proceedings, and other adverse matters. Coordinate international trademark filings and prosecution matters, including Madrid Protocol filings and communications with foreign associates. Conduct preliminary trademark clearance searches and assist with review and reporting of search results for attorney analysis. Review trademark watch notices and assist with attorney follow-up, enforcement evaluation, dispute escalation, and foreign associate coordination as needed. Assist with TTAB matters, including extensions of time to oppose, notices of opposition, petitions to cancel, appeals, motions, and related filings. Assist with trademark disputes, enforcement matters, ex parte and inter partes adverse proceedings, and related evidence gathering, status reporting, and file management. Assist with domain name matters, including domain portfolio support, domain name disputes, transfers, renewals, and coordination with registrars, clients, and outside counsel, as assigned. Assist with trademark, copyright, and domain name due diligence in connection with transactions, licensing matters, disputes, audits, and portfolio reviews. Prepare client correspondence, status reports, filing confirmations, deadline reminders, and portfolio summaries. Manage and maintain electronic files, portfolio records, and client documentation in accordance with firm and client requirements. Communicate effectively with clients, foreign associates, outside vendors, attorneys, staff, and USPTO personnel. Assist with related copyright matters, as assigned.
