You'll own the engineering roadmap for systems that power billions of patient communications annually - integrating AI agents into SMS, RCS, and omnichannel messaging while ensuring regulatory compliance at scale.ResponsibilitiesLead and grow a team of engineers, testers, and Data engineers; drive hiring, performance, and career developmentOwn architecture and delivery of multi-agent AI systems on Vertex AI, Gemini models, and GCP AI/ML servicesOversee CVS Health's enterprise SMS and RCS messaging platforms — orchestration, routing, carrier integrations, and conversational AI flowsEngineer TCPA compliance controls — consent management, suppression lists, opt-out workflows, and audit trailsDrive GCP-first infrastructure strategy across GKE, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud Run, and DataflowPartner with Product, Legal, and Compliance to translate regulatory requirements into durable system controlsRequired Qualifications8+ years in software engineering; 4+ years managing engineering teamsProduction experience with LLMs or agentic AI systems in enterprise environmentsHands-on GCP expertise (Vertex AI, GKE, Pub/Sub, BigQuery)Deep knowledge of SMS/RCS messaging - short codes, aggregators, carrier networksWorking knowledge of TCPA compliance and consent management systemsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Vertex AI Agent Builder, LangChain, or agentic orchestration frameworksRCS Business Messaging (Infobip) or Google Jibe platform experienceHIPAA data handling in a regulated health care environmentGCP Professional certifications (Developer, Architect or equivalent)EducationBachelor's in Computer Science or related field required; Master's preferred.Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:$106,605.00 - $284,280.00This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.  Our people fuel our future.
