Job DescriptionOn-site: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Tonawanda, NY plant.The Role: The Occupational Health Registered Nurse – PRN/per diem is responsible for providing emergency care, first aid and episodic treatment of occupational injuries and illnesses within standing orders. This position is meant to be ad hoc in nature with shifts to be scheduled in advance based on need and availability.This position earns $40 an hour. This rate is non-negotiable.What You'll Do:Administers professional nursing care to sick and/or injured employeesPerforms and evaluates various clinical and diagnostic testsAssists plant physician in minor surgical proceduresInterviews and documents medical history of employeesWorks effectively with the Health Services team and other departmentsMaintains appropriate medical records to ensure quality and accuracyPerforms and documents physical examsAdheres to common practices and procedures throughout the departmentMaintains equipment and suppliesAssists with the promotion of plant wellness programsWorks with health services customers in a knowledgeable and professional mannerYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):Associate Degree in NursingValid state nursing license2 years of prior nursing experience requiredProficient with electronic medical records and basic computer programs/softwareFlexibility for shift coverage, specifically 2nd shift and weekendsWhat Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Bachelor’s Degree in NursingER, Urgent Care, Critical Care, Med/Surg or Occupational Health experience preferredCertified in Healthcare Provider CPR/AEDCertification as Occupational Health Nursing (COHN) or Occupational Health Nursing Specialist (COHN-S) preferredSponsorship: GM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
