Job TitleFBS Assistant DirectorAgencyTexas A&M UniversityDepartmentStudent Business ServicesProposed Minimum SalaryCommensurateJob LocationCollege Station, TexasJob TypeStaffJob DescriptionA Glimpse of the JobThe FBS Assistant Director, under general direction, assists the Director in all aspects of Texas A&M Centralized Finance and Business Services departmental operations and maintains responsibility for a major functional unit(s) within a department.Essential Duties and TasksInternal Control ActivitiesParticipates in planning, directing, and coordinating operational or procedural matters to meet department goals and objectivesMonitors compliance with all unit, department, University, and government standards, policies, and proceduresHandles special projects as assigned by the DirectorReporting and AnalysisDevelops reports, analyses, and surveys as requested by DirectorParticipates in developing departmental strategic plans based on department goalsLeadership and PlanningAssists Director in planning and budgeting for departmentDevelops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates programsProvides leadership for department along with and in absence of the DirectorHandles special projects as assigned by the DirectorProvides supervision and guidance to a team or departmental sub-unit(s)Department SpecificDeliver professional fiscal assessments and student business operations supportServe as Account Manager for high-level enrollment management and primary contact for complex student account issues at remote sitesManage support staff at remote sitesSupport programs including DC Bush School, Health Science Center, Graduate, McAllen, School of Law, and Veterinary MedicineTrain local staff on advanced account issues and assessmentsTravel to remote sites is requiredOversee and report on servicing requests, coordinate regular meetings and site visits with enrollment management representativesProvide executive summaries on newly approved programs, service needs, and quarterly reports on service activity or issuesCoordinate with enrollment services for registration, financial aid, and admission anomaliesReview fiscal appeals regarding administrative errors in student servicesAssist with state and federal audits, open record requests, and subpoenas related to Student Business ServicesWhat You Need to KnowSalary: Compensation will be commensurate to selected hire’s experience. Required Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceSix years of related experience and progressively responsible experience in financial management or related operations, including experience delivering customer-focused servicesKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong multitasking and collaboration abilitiesEffective organizational and coordination skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster's Degree Knowledge of student financial operationsUnderstanding of federal regulations and compliance requirements impacting student accounts Familiarity with student information systems and financial platformsExperience leading and developing teams, including supervising staff, managing workflows, and driving accountability in a high-volume, service-oriented environmentOther Requirements and FactorsThis position is security sensitiveThis position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and proceduresAll tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirementsInstructions to Applicants: Applications received by Texas A&M University must either have all job application data entered or a resume attached.
