Become a part of our caring community Humana is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer II to join our Sales & Retention Value Analytics team within Ancillary Group Benefits. This team drives sustainable business growth by delivering data-driven insights to improve sales performance, optimize client value, and inform strategies based on member access to care. This role offers the opportunity to work with enterprise-scale healthcare data, including claims, sales, financial, and provider data across Humana’s dental, vision, life, disability, Medicare, and Medicaid businesses. You will contribute to analytics solutions while working independently on moderately complex problems and continuing to develop your technical and business expertise.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and enhance reporting and analytics solutions supporting sales and retention strategiesBuild and maintain Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and self-service toolsPartner with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytics solutionsBuild and support data models, including star schemas and semantic modelsSupport data preparation and transformation processesSupport geographic access analytics evaluating provider availability and proximity to membersPerform ad-hoc and exploratory data analysis to identify trends and insightsCommunicate findings through reports and visualizations tailored to business stakeholdersEnsure data accuracy and consistency across reporting solutionsWork independently on moderately complex problems, escalating more complex challenges as neededUse your skills to make an impact  Required QualificationsBachelor’s degreeMinimum 2 years of experience writing SQL queries (joins, aggregations, data shaping)Minimum 2 years of experience using Power BI, including Power Query and basic DAXHands-on experience building paginated reports (Power BI Report Builder or SSRS)Experience working with data models, including star schemas or semantic modelsExperience working with moderate to large datasets in a business environmentExperience collaborating with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and define technical solutionsExperience analyzing data to identify trends, patterns, or insightsProficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office toolsWork-At-Home RequirementsAt minimum, a download speed of 25 mbps and an upload speed of 10 mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggestedSatellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadershipAssociates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA informationPreferred QualificationsExperience working with healthcare data (claims, provider, sales, or benefits data)Experience supporting sales, retention, or operational reportingFamiliarity with cloud platforms or data tools (e.g., Databricks, Salesforce)Familiarity with geographic access analytics or tools such as Quest Analytics SuiteAdditional InformationThis role is not eligible for work visa sponsorshipAs part of our hiring process for this opportunity, we may contact you via text message and email to gather more information using a software platform called HireVue.
