Apply with DoneWithWork — $19.99/moJob DescriptionThe WWAMI Institute for Simulation in Healthcare (WISH) has an outstanding opportunity for a Technology Project Manager to join their team.About this OpportunityReporting to the Executive Director of WISH, and under the collaborative guidance of the WISH leadership team, the Technology Project Manager is responsible for the strategic planning, development, and execution of technology solutions that support the mission, compliance requirements, and long-term infrastructure of the WWAMI Institute for Simulation in Healthcare (WISH) and the Division of Healthcare Simulation Science.Key ResponsibilitiesIT Infrastructure Planning and Implementation – 50%Provide strategic leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of technology solutions across all WISH facilities, ensuring alignment with program goals and operational needs.Conduct comprehensive needs assessments for simulation technology, A/V systems, networks and digital tools, and translate findings into actional project proposals that support WISH’s strategic direction.Manage the installation, configuration, and lifecycle forecasting and management of hardware, software, and simulation systems in collaboration with internal and external partners.Simulation Operations Support – 35%Provide advanced technical support for simulation activities and events, including expert-level assistance with manikin systems, computer-based simulators, and complex AV configurations to ensure seamless execution of educational programs.Diagnose and resolve real-time technical issues during WISH courses and events, applying sound technical judgment and ensuring minimal disruption to high-stakes learning environments.Maintain comprehensive knowledge of WISH activities, workflows, and simulation operations to ensure the ability to occasionally cross-fill simulation technician functions when needed.Web-based Platform Support – 10%Support the technical stewardship of WISH’s web-based systems, including learning management tools, website, e-modules, video storage platforms, asset and data tracking systems, ensuring stability, security, and long-term sustainability.Diagnose and resolve complex access, configuration, and performance issues across web-based platforms used for operations, education, evaluation, and reporting, applying sound technical judgment and ensuring continuity of service.Special Projects – 5%Lead and support division-wide technology initiatives, providing technical expertise, project management, and compliance guidance for special projects identified by the Division.Required QualificationsTo be considered for this opportunity your application must demonstrate you meet both the minimum qualifications and additional qualifications listed below. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.Minimum QualificationsApplicants who do not meet these qualifications WILL NOT be forwarded to the Hiring Department.Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Healthcare Simulation, Educational Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.4 years of experience in technical support, AV/IT operations, simulation technology, or related technical project management.Demonstrated experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware, software, and/or AV systems.Additional QualificationsStrong organizational, communication, and customer-service skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for nontechnical audiences.Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, set priorities, and meet deadlines in dynamic or fast-paced environments.Proven ability to remain calm, professional and solution-focused during time-sensitive or high-pressure situations.Familiarity with simulation equipment, manikin operation, or comparable interactive technology platforms.Demonstrated commitment to equity, inclusion, and providing a supporting learning environment for diverse users.Preferred QualificationsExperience working in a collaborative environment with faculty, learners, administrators, IT units, and external vendors.Ability to synthesize information, problem-solve, and provide concise recommendations to leadership.Excellent documentation and workflow-mapping skills.Comfort creating or contributing to training materials, technology guides, or e-learning support documentation.Working ConditionsMust be able to work in a shared lab environmentComfort working around biological specimen/materials to support educational needs.This position will have a primary location of duty but must be able and willing to travel between WISH sites as needed, throughout the greater Seattle area (HMC, UWMC-ML, UWMC-NW).Activities often necessitate the movement and positioning of technology/equipment. The physicality of this position requires the ability to safely transport ~40lbs, standing or crouching for longer durations, maneuvering within tight spaces, and occasional ladder use.Position eligible for telework up to 3 days per week, varies by business needs.About the TeamWISH is a leading education and simulation center within the Division of Healthcare Simulation Science (HCSS) within the Department of Surgery. Simulation and Interprofessional Centers are now nearly compulsory in the education of healthcare professionals. When the Institute began in 2005, it was among the first in the country, and one of the first to receive accreditation. It remains a model for other centers and is a tremendous draw for our medical school and residency programs.
