Please do not apply here, apply internally through Workday.If you are NOT a current employee or student, please click “Apply” and complete the application process for external applicants. Approval of remote and hybrid work is not guaranteed regardless of work location. For additional information on remote work at Penn State, see Notice to Out of State Applicants.  JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTSThe Professional Personnel Development Center (PPDC) at Penn State is seeking a part-time Instructional Designer to support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of online learning experiences for career and technical education (CTE) professionals and workforce development stakeholders across Pennsylvania.The successful candidate will collaborate with PPDC staff and subject matter experts to design and improve curriculum, develop instructional materials, and support course delivery within the Canvas Learning Management System. Responsibilities include creating engaging learning activities, ensuring instructional quality and accessibility, organizing course content, and assisting with the implementation of best practices in online teaching and learning.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with instructional design and curriculum developmentProficiency with the Canvas Learning Management SystemKnowledge of adult learning principles and online pedagogyExperience developing multimedia learning resources and assessmentsStrong communication, organization, and project management skillsBachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Educational Technology, or a related field (master’s degree preferred)Flexible work arrangements may be availableCompensation commensurate with qualifications and experienceInterested candidates should submit:A current résumé or curriculum vitaeA brief cover letter outlining their qualifications and relevant experience related to instructional design, curriculum development, and Canvas course developmentApplications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled. BACKGROUND CHECKS/CLEARANCESEmployment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies.   CAMPUS SECURITY CRIME STATISTICSPursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act and the Pennsylvania Act of 1988, Penn State publishes a combined Annual Security and Annual Fire Safety Report (ASR).
