The Public Communications and Engagement Senior Manager reports to the Student Health's executive director of communications and marketing. This position will independently manage a portfolio of project assignments encompassing constituent and media relations, content creation, and analytics tracking. This role requires self-starter ability to independently manage progress toward project completion, and ability to successfully interface with a number of different departments. A part of the Keck Medicine of USC organization, this position is key in producing content that helps the college population (undergraduate and graduate students, students of diverse socioeconomic and cultural experiences, and of all backgrounds) become better familiarized with health topics and USC Student Health services, with the overall goal of helping college students develop the lifelong skills to become excellent managers of and advocates for their own health care. This position will manage assigned direct reports, including the functional role of Design and Production and Health Content Specialist.Essential Duties:Creates and executes content plan for providing patient education to population of 40,000+ graduate and undergraduate students on two campuses.Creates plans with campus partner to promote awareness of services and programs.Oversees social media strategy and analytics, supervises assigned staff and student workers and manages content calendar.Monitors, analyzes and communicates KPI results on a quarterly basisEngages audiences across traditional and new media; ensures information is presently clearly and consistently across multiple channels.Ensures cross-publishing and cross-promotion across digital social web among campus stakeholder groupsPerforms other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:Req Bachelor’s Degree in communications/public relations, management, or related fieldReq 7-10 years Experience in communications and digital marketingReq Supervisory experience and enthusiasm for mentoringReq Project management experienceReq Proven track record designing and executing successful communication campaignsReq Exceptional writing and editing skillsReq Solid experience with digital media monitoring and metricsReq Media relations or digital content management / social listening — related to issues managementReq Superb writing ability, demonstrated through work samplesReq Strong interest and abilities in researching, verifying and summarizing health-related data from primary resourcesPreferred Qualifications:Pref Master’s degree in communications/public relations, management, or related fieldPref Work experience in a complex nonprofit, public, or governmental organizationPref Familiarity with college population and university constituencies including parents, academic support, student services, administrative departmentsPref Familiarity with user experience and/or customer journey mapping using digital marketing platformsPref Audience development and communications benchmarking experienceRequired Licenses/Certifications: Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)The hourly rate range for this position is $32.40 - $55.08.
