The mission of the UAMS Winthrop Rockefeller Cancer Institute Mobile Lung Screening Program is to increase cancer screenings and cancer education throughout Arkansas with particular focus on our rural underserved counties where screening is not accessible. The CT Technologist will be responsible for providing quality diagnostic imaging for medical interpretation. Duties will include operating CT equipment, handling patients, post-processing of images, working with electronic medical records, communication with physicians and other services/departments. This position requires travel with occasional overnight stays that are scheduled well in advance to allow for personal arrangements. Sometimes trip schedules include departures/arrivals after hours or on weekends, e.g., departure on a Sunday afternoon or returning on a Friday evening. The position also requires a commercial driver’s license (CDL) to drive the Lung CT van as needed. Training will be provided.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:HS diploma/GED PLUS Graduate of an approved Radiology program; New graduate or less than one (1) year of experience; Registry eligible - or registered - by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist;ART license must be obtained prior to start date and CT Advanced Certification obtained within 12 months of hire;Obtain an Arkansas Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) within 3 months of hire date.Preferred Qualifications:At least one (1) year of CT experience .Effective Communication: The technologist must be able to communicate with patients, physicians, clinics, and other services in the hospital and community in an effective, professional, and courteous manner.  Professional Development: The technologist is responsible for maintaining their professional license(s), National Registry, and all annual competencies.Additional Information:Responsibilities:Operates and maintains specialized radiologic equipment (CT).Performs high quality lung imaging exams.
