Job Description SummaryWe are looking for a Software Engineering Intern who will be working with a team of software engineers and design engineers to develop next generation engineering software solutions for up to 11 months, with an initial 6-month period and an optional 5-month extension, to be employed in our team. Work location will be Kartal, Istanbul.Job DescriptionSite Overview:GE Aerospace has an advanced engineering center located in İstanbul, Kartal, complemented by cutting-edge laboratories in Kocaeli and Gebze. Our offices in İstanbul and Ankara provide essential support to commercial and defense engines across the country. Our highly skilled engineers at the Türkiye Technology Center contribute to GE Aerospace’s engineering work on indigenous programs, new engine programs, software development, and additive manufacturing, supporting the country’s position as an advanced aerospace hub. Join us and find an opportunity to shape the future of flight.Role Overview:Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the projectUnderstand performance parameters and can assess application performanceThe Ideal Candidate:The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and eager-to-learn Engineering or STEM student with hands-on software coding experience, a strong understanding of core data structures and algorithms, and a collaborative mindset to contribute to cutting-edge aerospace engineering projects in a dynamic and respectful team environment.Required Qualifications:BSc (year 3rd/4th not graduated) or MSc student of related Engineering departments Mechanical, Computer Engineering etc. or STEM.Have awareness of SDLC and methodologies like Lean/Agile/XP, CI, Software and Product Security, Scalability, Documentation Practices, refactoring and Testing TechniquesUnderstand core data structures and algorithms and has the ability to implement them using language of choice.Preferred Qualifications:Good command of English & Turkish (reading/writing)Eager to learnOpen to communicationTeam playerSelf-motivatedHands on SW Coding ExperienceAt GE Aerospace, we have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and more sustainable flight and believe in our talented people to make it happen.
