If so, come join us and help us build one of the industry’s most complete and advanced data and analytics eco systems.As the Data engineering Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for developing solutions to support the delivery of product roadmaps for multiple Data engineering platforms. You will engage with technical product manager, architect, and other members of the organization to design and deliver solutions to address business needs. You will also be responsible for testing the solutions, updatingWhat should you haveHands-on experience designing, deploying, and operating cloud-native infrastructure.Good Experience in Data & integration and understanding data analytics concepts, ETL/ELT and integration platform architecture.Strong understanding and experience in data analytics ecosystem and prefer to have experience in the data ingestion, curation and orchestration tools (Ex. dbt cloud, Matillion, Airflow)Good knowledge of cloud networking, security best practices, and cost optimization.Experience with container platforms and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).Proficient with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation or equivalent).Strong experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).Practical programming/scripting skills (Python, Bash/Shell).Comfortable working on Linux/Unix environments.Solid understanding of version control, release management, deployments, and related tooling.Familiar with SDLC, basic QA/testing practices, and release verification.Experience with monitoring, logging and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, Acceldata or similar).Proven ability to maintain platform availability, troubleshoot production issues, and implement optimizations.Solid understanding of version control, release management, deployments, and related tooling.Familiar with SDLC, basic QA/testing practices, and release verification.Experience working closely with product teams; able to translate customer needs into technical solutions.Product- and customer-centric mindset with experience participating in product lifecycle activities.Experience working in Agile teams and knowledge of Scrum.Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work in a matrixed organization.What will you do:Build, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure, containerization, and orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) to support our application and data integration platform.Technical implementation of platform features across engineering and product teams.Collaborate with product managers and customers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable, secure infrastructure solutions.Participate in product planning: contribute to backlog prioritization, provide estimations, and support timely delivery of enhancements.Ensure platform availability and reliability; monitor performance and implement optimizations.Proactively identify and implement cost-saving opportunities for cloud and platform resources.Collect and act on user feedback to improve platform usability and adoption.Work effectively in a matrix organization, aligning functional engineering goals with product priorities.Primary SkillsCertifications: AWS Certified (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer), Kubernetes certifications (CKA/CKAD), GCPWho we are:We are known as Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, New Jersey, USA in the United States and Canada and MSD everywhere else.
